Sisters,
In creating the Moon Beam Sorority, we searched for ideas to symbolize a young woman starting her period. Throughout time, many cultures have associated the moon with a woman. The phases of the moon are cyclic, just as a woman's cycle. Some cultures perform rituals and ceremonies to honor a girl's transformation into a woman. We believe that becoming a woman is a unique and beautiful time which should be rewarded and celebrated as well. Because all women are connected by this universal cycle of the moon, we created the Moon Beam Sorority for all young women. Every woman is different just as each moonbeam but yet we are all similar and connected in this world.
The Moon Beam Sorority is here to help young girls embrace becoming a woman as well as commemorate it. The Moon Beam Sorority offers many personal ways for a young woman and/or her family to symbolize and celebrate her growth into womanhood.
The Moon Beam Sorority would like for all sisters to encourage, empower and educate our new sisters in the beauty of becoming a woman.
